Vinny and Ted are delighted to announce that Geoff ‘Dusty’ Miller, the former Derbyshire, Essex and England cricketer, and brilliant after-dinner speaker, will be visiting Chalfont St Peter for our latest Q&A Evening on Wednesday 12th February, with a 7:45pm start.
As ever, the evening will be compered by V&T’s very own Jeremy Paxman, Angus Fraser, who will talk to Geoff about his rich and successful career in cricket.
In a 17-year professional career Geoff played over 700 games of professional cricket, in which he took 1,166 wickets and scored over 16,000 runs. Between 1976 and 1984 he represented England on 59 occasions, taking 85 wickets and scoring almost 1,500 runs.
Geoff’s post playing career has been as successful as that on the field. Since hanging up his boots he has become one of the most highly-regarded and entertaining after-dinner speakers in the country, and spent 13 years selecting England cricket teams. For five of these years Dusty was England’s National Selector and on his retirement from the role in 2013 he was awarded the OBE for services to cricket.
Geoff continues to entertain thousands of people each year at lunches and dinners, performing on many occasions with his great mate Sir Ian Botham.
It is recommended that you book early for what will be another fantastic evening at your local – Vinny and Ted.
