Mark Ramprakash Q&A – 16th April

Ramps with hsi 2nd XI cap on

Vinny and Ted’s are delighted to announce that Mark Ramprakash, the former Middlesex, Surrey and England cricketer, and Strictly Come Dancing Champion, will be joining us for our Q&A Series on 16 April.

As ever V&T’s star, (well starish) compere Angus Fraser, will chat with Mark about his stunning career in cricket and his remarkable performances on Strictly, before opening the floor to questions from those in attendance.

Ramprakash’s career in cricket saw him score more than 50,000 professional run and post 114 1st Class hundreds, the same as his childhood hero Viv Richards. These performances gained him selection for England, who he made 70 appearances for. Mark’s England career was far from straightforward and he will probably be the last batter ever to score a hundred 1st class hundreds.

Since retiring from cricket in 2012 Mark has become an outstanding coach, working with Middlesex and England’s batters for more than a decade.

In 2006, whilst still playing for Surrey, Mark’s fame rose to a completely new level when he agreed to take part in Strictly Come Dancing. He immediately showed his ability to learn and adapt, and, with his partner Karen Hardy, stormed through to win the famous ‘Glitterball.’

On the evening V&T’s will be running a small auction to raise funds for Middlesex in The Community, the charitable arm of Middlesex County Cricket Club. The aim of the foundation is to use cricket to help unite people of all backgrounds in Middlesex and its neighbouring areas.

Come and join us for what will be another memorable evening at Vinny and Ted’s, Chalfont St Peter’s secret little gem.
