What is the V&T Racing Syndicate?
Our syndicate has been created to give racing fans the thrill of ownership at an affordable cost. By pooling together a group of 30 people, we’re able to purchase and run a racehorse as a team, sharing in both the fun and the prize money.
Meet Our Horse – Classic Speed
We’re proud to have secured Classic Speed, a talented 5-year-old flat horse who has already enjoyed success with two wins at Kempton. You can view his full form on Racing Post. After a short break, Classic Speed is returning to training with a refreshed campaign ahead, targeting local courses such as Windsor, Kempton, Sandown, and Newbury. We’re particularly excited to see how he performs on turf as well as the all-weather track.
Who Trains Him?
Classic Speed is trained by Brian Toomey at his excellent yard on Bowstridge Lane in Chalfont St Giles. You can find out more about him at Toomey Racing.
Costs & Ownership
Each share represents a 3.33% ownership stake in Classic Speed. That means you’ll receive your portion of any prize money won and have a genuine share in the horse—not just membership of a racing club.
- Up-front cost: £365 (covers the purchase price of Classic Speed and syndicate set-up)
- Monthly fee: £65 (covers training, race entries, and minor vet bills)
All costs are transparent, with any surplus returned to owners. The syndicate runs on a 12-month basis, so you can enjoy a full season of racing.
Race Days & Owners Badges
As a syndicate member, you’ll be part of the action on race days. Owners’ badges are guaranteed whenever Classic Speed runs, giving you access to the paddock, parade ring, and owners’ areas. While some courses limit numbers, we have a strong record of securing extras, and racecourses are increasingly supportive of syndicates like ours.
